Why does Chiropractic Work?

Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that the nervous system controls the function of every cell in the human body. The spinal column encloses and protects the delicate nervous system. Falls, injuries, repetitive movements and bad posture may cause misalignments and dislocations in the spine or in any of the joints in the body, including hips, knees, ankles, feet, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands. These dislocations or subluxations, interfere with normal function and spinal motion. This can result in a variety of health problems and improper patterns

On your first visit, Dr. Cain will discuss your symptoms and previous medical history with you, followed by a comprehensive examination that includes neurological and orthopedic tests. If necessary, x-rays will be taken. He then gives you a detailed and understandable explanation of your examination and x-rays. If Dr. Cain determines that your case will benefit from chiropractic, recommendations for optimum care are discussed. Upon your approval, treatment for your condition will begin. If your case is determined to need further diagnostic evaluations, a more specialized examination, or pharmacological treatment, you will be advised and referred to an appropriate physician.

Treatment consists of spinal adjustments and physiotherapy that are tailored to your specific health needs. Dr. Cain uses only the safest, most gentle and effective treatment techniques. In fact, chiropractic is so safe that even newborns and the elderly can benefit from chiropractic care.
